IYSA Covid Update - Site updated by IYSA on 1/15/21

"This afternoon, Governor Pritzker announced that Regions 1,2,5 have reached Tier 2 mitigations and that more should follow in the coming days. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH SOCCER ORGANIZATION TO MONITOR THE METRIC IN THE REGION WHERE IT OPERATES AND TO KNOW WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE PERMITTED BY LAW.

You can find the regional metric here.

Illinois Youth Soccer DOES NOT have clarification on the regional metrics and questions concerning the allowable activities in your area should be directed to:

Your local health department or municipalityIllinois Department Of Public Health at DPH.Sick@Illinois.gov

The designation of your Region determines specific terms of your allowable activities including group size.

Organizations must also abide by all  in the Illinois All Sports guidelines NOT covered in the mitigation document.

Illinois All Sports Policy

In addition to the state guidelines, all organization must abide by any additional local restrictions and participation in soccer does NOT grant permission to disregard public health orders.  Any activities done that violate state, local or Illinois Youth Soccer guidelines will void insurance coverage for players, coaches and that soccer organization.  COVID-19 claims are NOT covered by Illinois Youth Soccer insurance.

Additionally, organizations MUST also

Complete and submit the IYSA Organization Communicable Disease Agreement and submit to your member competitive league (for teams & clubs) or to mk@illinoisyouthsoccer.org (for recreational programs) before restarting any programming.Have EVERY player and coach complete and submit the IYSA Communicable Disease Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk Agreement (PDF) before they can participate in any soccer activities. This document should be kept on file for each season along with the IYSA Medical Release waiver and be available to IYSA upon request or audit.Players and coaches must be currently registered and carded to an Illinois Youth Soccer member competitive league or recreational program to be covered by Illinois Youth Soccer insurance.

Again please direct any state-allowable activities / regional metric questions to the appropriate governmental agency and IYSA staff will be happy to assist you with soccer-related questions.

IYSA will not cover any player/team participating in indoor league play or games between teams in an indoor facility unless the games are organized and conducted by an IYSA Member League, when allowable by the state of Illinois."
