Effective May 1, 2025, Illinois Youth Soccer will transition their Risk Management procedures to the US Soccer Safe Soccer Clearance Program.
What exactly does that mean for YSSL coaches, board members, managers and volunteers?
This means that going forward, the background screening process will proceed through the US Soccer’s Safe Clearance Program. To avoid delays, it is best for new YSSL coaches to start their background checks through the new system now—May 1st is approaching quickly, and the background screening process can take a while.
